Nobility crown AbaisioAntica e nobile famiglia originaria dell'Emilia Romagna. Arma della famiglia: D'oro al leone d'azzurro. Tra le bibliografie due componenti portarono lustro a questa famiglia. Un Guido che fu Vescovo di Reggio Emilia al finire del 1200. Altro Guido fu Vescovo di Ferrara nel 1304. Il ricercatore e autorevole storico Gozzadini nella sua "Delle Torri Gentilizie di Bologna, e delle famiglie nobili alle quali prima appartennero", stampato in Bologna presso Zannichelli nel 1875. Sottoposta a più d'ogni altra alle vicendevolezze de' tempi fu la presente famiglia, la quale come fazzionaria delle rabbiose parti Guelfe, e Ghibelline si disastrò, come l'altre a lei simili, che hora dentro, hora fuori delle città emiliane bisognò commorare, secondo gl'interessi, che coorevano per quella parte, come si mostrerà appresso. Questa secondo l'antico costume, si chiamò con il nome del luogo, che non essendovi per allora in uso i Casati, si denominavano le famiglie da quel luogo, che possedevano, come di tant'altre nell'opera nostra si prova; anzi l'essersi questa ostinata sino del Secolo 1500 in portare tale cognome, come fecero tant'altre, che padroneggiando terre, Castelli, e grossi Villaggi, non vollero perdere quell'ombra di grandezza, che nelle glorie, e onori della Casa fa Corpo reale. ...
