Los del linaje de A., proceden de Galicia. El valiente caballero Rui Pérez de A., Señor de esta casa por los años de 1084, era del lugar que se llama del Libredor, a media legua de Compostela. Fué rico-hombre del Rey Don Alfonso VI, a quien sirvió en las conquistas de Guadalajara, Madrid y Toledo. Casó con D. Adosinda Gutiérrez, y de este matrimonio nacieron los siguientes hijos: D. Fernán Ruiz de A., don Gómez Ruiz de A., Obispo que fué de Lugo, y D. Pedro Ruiz de A., de quien procede mucha nobleza de Santiago de Galicia. El primogénito, D. Fernán Ruiz de A., realzó grandemente con sus hechos el renombre de su casa. Por los años 1123, fué uno de los más valerosos caballeros que sirvieron al Rey Don Alfonso VII el Emperador, y como rico-hombre firma diferentes escrituras desde dicho año hasta el de 1146, en que falleció, recibiendo su cuerpo sepultura en el Monasterio de Santa María de Obona, en Galicia. Don Fernán Ruiz de A. había estado casado con Doña Urraca Menéndez Varela, del solar de los Oteros de Ramil, y con ella tuvo los siguientes hijos: Don Fernán Ferrández de A., D. Rodrigo Ferrández de A. y D. Diego Ferrández de A., de quienes viene mucha nobleza de Galicia y Asturias. ...
