Los que llevan este apellido proceden de Aragón, donde hay varias casas del linaje. Domingo A., vecino de Ainsa, partido de Boltaña, en la provincia de Huesca, casó con María Ciutat, y tuvieron por hijos a Mateo y Domingo A. Ciutat. El primogénito, Mateo A., contrajo matrimonio con Isaul de Pueyo, y de esta unión nacieron Antonio, Pedro y Pablo A., vecinos de Grises, lugar del partido de Almunia, en la provincia de Zaragoza, que, en 1578, obtuvieron sentencia de infanzonía en la Real Audiencia de Zaragoza. También solicitó y obtuvo prueba de infanzonía, en 1600, Francisco Antonio A., de la misma rama. Hay también una línea de este linaje que radicó en Teruel. De ella procedía don Domingo A., natural de dicha ciudad, que casó con doña Leonor Sebastián, de igual naturaleza. Estos pasaron a establecerse en Valencia a finales del siglo XVI, llevando a esta región el linaje; pero por tener posesiones en Teruel, residieron largas temporadas en esta última ciudad. Tuvieron por hijo a Don Vicente A. y Sebastián, que nació en Valencia, donde casó con doña Isabel Jordá, natural de dicha población. De este matrimonio, que residió también algunas temporadas en Teruel, fue hijo Don Miguel Juan Adrián y Jordá, capitán muy conocido en Valencia, y caballeros de la Orden de Montesa en 1625. ...
