Nobility crown AguileraAcontece con este apellido lo que con casi todos los linajes cuya antigüedad se remonta a los primeros años de la Reconquista de España; que no es fácil, por la escasez de datos y su endeble consistencia, determinar de una manera clara cuáles fueron sus orígenes. Algunos tratadistas opinan que procede de Francia; sin embargo, otros autores muy autorizados lo consideran originario de Alemania, de donde vino por los años 718 a pelear en España bajo las banderas de don Pelayo, alcanzando pronto gran renombre por sus proezas y hechos de armas. Ese caballero alemán traía por divisa en su pendón y en su escudo y como jeroglífico, que recordaba la excelencia de su elevado origen, un águila, por lo que le llamaron, primero, el Caballero del Aguila, y despúes, Aguilera, sobrenombre que tomó por apellido, siendo el tronco y principal ascendiente de este noble linaje en España. Este apellido se extendió por varias provincias españolas. Todas las ramas de A. que difundieron mucho el apellido por España y América. Entre los caballeros hijosdalgo recibidos en el Estado Noble de Madrid y que entraron en suertes, ejerciendo los cargos del Ayuntamiento, figuraron los siguientes: Pedro de A. (1625 y 1637), Cristóbal de A. (1645), Juan Antonio de A. y Zarza (1689), Felipe, Francisco, José, Juan y Juan A. y Castillo (1702, 1716 y 1728). Otra familla: Apellido de origen castellano, descendiente del Rey Don Ramiro I, con casa solariega en la provincia de Santander, montañas de Trasmiera. Una rama pasó al lugar de Valtueña en Soria, otra a Aragón, fundando nueva casa en la villa de Cetina, provincia de Zaragoza; otra rama se afincó en Soria y otras en Salamanca, Murcia y Andalucía. Don Sancho IV concedió el año 1290 el Señorío de A., junto a la villa de Berlanga, a Don Gil de A., que construyó allí su castillo, siendo el tronco de los A. de Guadalajara y Cuenca. ...
