En la villa de Vergara (Guipúzcoa), con casa solar de acreditada noblezas, y ramas en la villa de Elgueta, del mismo partido judicial de Vergara, y en la anteiglesia de San Andrés de Echevarría, del Ayuntamiento de Echevarría y partido judicial de Durango, en Vizcaya. De la casa de Vergara fué Martín Pérez de A., que casó con doña María Juana de Olaso (hija única y sucesora, de Juan López de Olaso, Señor de la Torre de Olaso en Vergara, y de su mujer doña María Martínez de Soraluce y Gaviria). Ambos cónyuges fundaron el mayorazgo de Olaso, de Vergara, componiéndole de muchos bienes raíces, juros y censos, y poniendo por expresa cláusola que todos sus poseedores llevaran en primero o segundo apellido el de Olaso. Fundaron también Martín y doña Juana memorias y tuvieron los siguientes hijos: Antonio de Olaso A., que llevó en primer apellido el de Olaso, en virtud de la cláusula establecida por sus padres en la fundación del mayorazgo de Olaso, y Ana Olaso y A., que casó con Juan de Gaviria, Comendador de Talavera y Señor del Palacio de Gaviria, en Vergara. El primogénito Antonio de Olaso A., sucedió en los mayorazgos referidos, contrajo matrimonio con doña María de Gaviria (hermana del marido de doña Ana de Olaso A.), y tuvieron esta única hija. María de Olaso de Gaviria, que casó dos veces la primera, con Juan de Amézqueta, del que tuvo un hijo que murió sin dejar descendencia, y la segunda, con Diego de Gurpide y Achaga, del que tuvo sucesión. Otra casa muy antigua. Recoge este apellido el Doctor Labayru, pero solo dice que tuvo casa solar armera en la anteiglesia de Arrazola, del partido judicial de Durango, en Vizcaya. ...
