Noble linaje de Cataluña, con casa solar en la villa de Biosca, del partido judicial de Solsona (Lérida). Tuvo entierro en uno de los cuatro altares de la parroquia de San Abdón y San Senén, de dicha villa, en el que aparecía el escudo de armas. En ese altar fue sepultado, en 1227, Bernardo A. Sus descendientes ejercieron siempre los ejercicios más nobles de la villa. Fray Benito A. escribió varias notables obras, impresas en Madrid en 1746. De esa misma casa solar procedió Francisco de A., que fue baile de Biosca, donde casó con Na Teodora, en la que tuvo a Francisco de A., segundo del nombre, que nació en 1691. El rey Felipe V le concedió los honores y prerrogativas que disfrutaban los nobles de Cataluña, gozando de igual merced todos sus descendientes. Fue vecino de la ciudad de Cervera (Lérida) y teniente coronel de infantería ligera de Cataluña. Contrajo matrimonio con doña María Sala, naciendo de esa unión Nicolás A., natural de Biosca y capitán de los reales ejércitos, que casó con doña María Combeller (hija de Juan Combeller, natural de Biosca, y de doña María Manconill), y fueron padres de Cristina de A., esposa de Baudilio Carreres Ubach, del que tuvo a Francisco y José Carreres y A. ...
