Cette maison, originaire de Tournon, fut anoblie en 1610. Elle doit son illustration à Pierre, littérateur distingué de la fin du XVIème et du commencement du XVIIème siècle. Pierre, sieur de Montmartin, gentilhomme ordinaire de la chambre du Roi, né à Tournon en 1573 et décédé à Paris en 1640, était fils de Pierre, avocat à Tournon, et de Jeanne Alleman. Dans son testament, Pierre (1630), oncle de Louis de Boulieu et de demoiselle Marie de Faisson, se qualifie de "noble Pierre, sieur de Montmartin, gentilhomme de la Chambre du Roi, maistral et capitaine du château de Moras". Il fait ses héritiers universels demoiselle Madeleine de Fassion, sa femme, et noble Claude, son fils, conseiller du Roi, maître ordinaire à la Chambre des Comptes du Dauphiné, qui épousa Marie de Murinais. Ces personnages sont qualifiés de bourgeois et de nobles, ils contractèrent de belles alliances et se fondirent en 1680 dans la maison de La Porte de l'Arthaudière, du Dauphiné. ...
