Nobility crown BarrosoApellido gallego. Procede de Ginzo de Lilmia en la provincia de Orense. Pedro Gómez, participó en la Conquista de Sevilla y fue tronco de su linaje en Andalucía. El apellido data en la isla de la Gomera, desde mediados del siglo XVIII. Según recoge la Revista Historia en la docta pluma del cronista gomero Luis Fernández Pérez, la filiación del apellido que comentamos, si inicia con Sebastián de Medina, que fue esposo de Doña Paula Manrique de Lara, hija del Capitàn Lucas Trujillo y de su esposa Doña Paula Manrique. Testó en Vallehermoso en 1752. De este enlace nació: Sebastián y Manrique de Lara, que casò en dicha villa el 24 de febrero de 1749 con su prima Doña María López Manrique de Lara. Su hijo Pedro Manrique de Lara, probó ante la Justicia de la Isla, la nobleza e hidalguía de su familia. Desempeñó en la Villa-capital el honroso cargo de castellano del Buen Paso. También casó en Vallehormoso con Doña Francisca García-Llarena y Carrasco, hija del Teniente de Milicias, Don José García y de Doña Francisca de Lliarena y Peña. Pedro y García-Lliarena, hijo de los anteriores, se desposó con Doña María García y Roldán, continuando la línea de los Barroso en dicha isla de la Gomera. El tronco de este apellido en Tenerife desciende de Juan López, de origen portugués, que dio recibo de dote a sue esposa Iñés López, el 8 julio de 1538. ...
