On signale les personnages dignes de mémoire: Gilbert de Brionne, dit Crespin, baron du Bec-Crespin, l'un des fondateurs de l'abbaye du Bec, en 1034; Guillaume, seigneur de Varenguebec, connétable de Normandie et maréchal de France en 1283; Charles, vice-amiral de France, père de Philippe, successivement évêque de Vannes, Nantes et archevêque de Reims, l'un des prélats assistants du concile de Trente, mort en 1605, oncle de Jean, évêque de Saint-Malo; mort en 1610; Renée, veuve du maréchal de Guébriant, nommée à l'ambassade de Pologne en 1645; Antoine, comte de Moret, lieutenant-général, tué d'un corp de canon au siège de Gravelines en 1685.
