Nobility crown BenevidesÉ antiga e nobre famíla de Espanha que provém de Rodrigo Inigues de Biedma, senhior da casa de Sotoburmo e da terra de Lima, na raia de Galiza, e a pessoa mais antiga que se conhece deste apelido, e que de sua mulher houve a Inigo Inigues de Biedma, que se achou na conquista de Galiza, na tomada de Jaen, no ano de 1246, e que passando a Aragão aí casou com D. Maria de Vilhafanda de Godoy, dama da Rainha. Deste matrimónio nasceu Rodrigo Inigues de Biedma, que foi senhor de Molinares, Estiviel e Menxibar, pelo seu casamento com D. Joama Dias de Frenes, filha de Diogo Sanches de Frenes. Rodrigo Inigues houve de sua mulher Diogo Sanches de Biedma, alcaide dos Alcáceres de Jaen; senhor da Roda, de Menxibar e Torre de Estiviel, que lograva por 1312, capitão-general da gente da cidade de Jean e um dos que estiveram no cerco de Gibraltar. De sua mulher, D. Maria Afonso, filha de Afonso Godins e de D. Inês Tenório, teve Mem Rodrigues de Biedma e B., progenitor dos deste apelido. Não foi Mem Rodrigues de Biedma a primeira pessoa do apelido de B., que já xistia há muito tempo, posi um filho ilegítimo de D. Afonso VII, chamado o Imperador, D. João Afonso, o usava, tomado da vila de B., de que era senhor, por varonia se transmitiu o apelido até outro João Afonso de B., terceiro neto do primeiro, o qual veio o morrer sem geração. Era, este, filho de João Afonso de B. e de sua mulher, D. Teresa Godins, filha de Afonso Godina e de D. Inês Peres Tenório. Timbre: o leão do escudo. ...
