Nobility crown BlessentFamiglia assai antica ed illustre, detta Alessi o D'Alessi, i cui membri risultano originari di Carrù, in Piemonte. Trasferitasi, poi, in Torino, la famiglia si illustrò col banchiere Giambattista, che veniva investito della contea di Canosio (2 agosto 1747), fondando il 29 dicembre 1749 una primogenitura. Personaggi notevoli della famiglia sono: Gian-Giacomo, figlio di Girolamo, di Giambattista, il quale investito di Moiola (3 aprile 1777), dava luogo a un'altra linea comitale, oggi estinta; e Paolo, della linea comitale di Canosio, il quale era stato, successivamente, canonico (1796) e arciprete della cattedrale di Torino (1823), ed aveva vissuto nel periodo francese alla corte del card. Costa d'Arignano e nel 1799, all'epoca delle effimere vittorie del Souwarof, era stato deportato dagli austro-russi perché "candido repubblicano" e caldo partigiano dei francesi.
