Nobility crown BonoAntica famiglia, originaria di Parma, le cui prime vestigia rimandano al secolo XIII, nel quale appaiono, in rogiti di compravendita di immobili, alcuni personaggi di tal casato. Pietro "Bonus" de Bono fu uno dei capi della rivolta del 1477 contro la fazione dei Rossi di Parma (Angeli, La historia di Parma, Parma, Viotto, 1591, lib. IV, pag. 396); Genesio figura nell'elenco degli anziani della "squadra ducale" negli statuti Parmensi del 1494 (Statuta magnificae civit. Parma, Parmae, Ang. Ugoletus, MCCCCXCIIII, c.1) e dopo di lui nelle Provigioni comunali sono elencati come membri dell'anzianato un Benedetto, un Alessandro, un Giovanni, un Francesco, un Pietro, un Cosmo e un Bartolomeo, capo degli anziani. Nella: "Matricola dei notai di Parma" si trovano inscritti: Pietro di Antonio all'an. 1430, Giovanni di Pietro, an. 1469, Genesio di Pietro, an. 1476, Cosma di Pietro, an. 1481, Sigismondo di Pietro, 1486, Benedetto di Genesio, an. 1505, Giangaspare di Ugolino, an. 1512, Cosma di Genesio, an. 1522. Un Giovanni fu da Alessandro Farnese creato vicario di Parma, un Pietro fu uditore delle cause civili in Piacenza, ove ottenne nel 1589 la cittadinanza Piacentina. Nella chiesa di S. Giovanni Evangelista dei PP. Benedettini di Parma, nella cappella della Vergine, si trovano antiche lapidi sepolcrali e lo stemma gentilizio della famiglia; nella volta di essa si legge il nome di Pietro Bono, il quale fece fare al Correggio i due inestimabili quadri: la Pietà e il martirio di S. Placido, in memoria di don Placido suo figlio, che entrò monaco in quell'ordine. Un Antonio fece erigere un altare nella chiesa di S. Francesco della città in memoria d'una figlia per nome Dorotea, di cui fa menzione una lapide: un Alessandro appare fra i reggenti del santuario della Steccata da lapide apposta nell'altare di S. Giorgio, un Pietro appartenne ai canonici della cattedrale, un Bartolomeo morì nel 1686, coprendo la carica di capo dell'anzianato di Parma; lasciò un figlio Genesio, il quale fu da Antonio Farnese creato conte con trasmissibilità nei maschi con pat. del 30 luglio 1727.
