En Cataluña y en las Baleares. Bover dice que el primero de este apellido en Mallorca fue Guillermo B., que el 26 de noviembre de 1285 prestó juramento y homenaje al rey don Alonso III de Aragón. Los B. mallorquines fundaron casa solariega en la villa de Felanitx y de ella fue Juan B., natural de Felanitx, que fue gran conseller en 1509. La misma dignidad ostentó en 1509 y 1512 Gabriel B., de la misma villa. Juan Bautista B., jesuita, fue confesor del virrey de Aragón don Fernando de Borja. Murió en 1626. Juan B. obtuvo privilegio de ciudadano militar con fecha 12 de septiembre de 1669. Simón B., magistral de la catedral de Mallorca, dejó fama de insigne orador.
