Ascanio-Flaminio figlio di un notajo di Cravenzana avendo sposato Rosa-Giacinta Cognengo, ed essendo morto nel 1771 Giuseppe-Antonio Cognengo dei Conti di Castelmonte zio di sua moglie, senza prole, ne ereditò le ragioni feudali, cui altre ne aggiunse nel 1773 su Castellamonte per acquisto fattone dal Commemd. Marenco. Egli fu Avvocato fiscale a Mortara, poi amministrò Biella come Intendente, poi le finanze col grado di primo ufficiale, e più tardi di generale. Il conte Ugo suo figlio lasciò bella fama di sè per l'illuminato suo governo delle finanze militari, come Presidente di Corte di Cassazione e come scrittore di giurisprudenza. Nel 1782 era stato fatto senatore e consigliere delle finanze, e nel 1800 Primo Presidente della Camera dei Conti. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più notizie. ...
