Abitavano dunque alcuni detti Giocoli in Fiorenza nella Parrocchia di S.Procolo, da' quali diversi rami sono scaturiti, tutti insieme vanno a ferire un certo Petrone, che fioriva nel 940 i cui discendenti, benchè fossero di un medesimo popolo, furono nondimeno distinti al vocabolo ove dimoravano; cioè quegli vicino alla Chiesa di San Procolo si domandarono Giocoli, e poi Guicci; altri i Giocoli, o Giochi di Porta; altri che abitavano in vocabolo alla Rena, furono detti Brena ma in effetto tutti procedevano da uno stipite, come si provera appresso.
