Nobility crown CárdenesApellido de origen riojano. Procede de los Señores de Vizcaya. Varias ramas pasaron a América. Enlazó con la primera nobleza española y probó innumerables veces su nobleza en las Ordenes Militares y Reales Maestranzas de Caballería. Don Diego de C. y Enriquez fue creado Duque de Maqueda en 1530. Otros títulos de Condes recayeron también en caballeros de este apellido y el título de Marqués de C. de Montehermoso, fue concedido a Don Agustín de C., vecino de Cuba, en 1711. El capitán Don Miguel de C. Vélez de Guevara, nació en La Hubana, el 29 de septiembre de 1696 y testó el 13 de noviembre de 1771. Fue su esposa Doña María Luisa Castellón y Calvo, nacida en la Habana el 21 de junio de 1697, cuyo matrimonio se celebró el 8 de agosto de 1721. De él nació don Agustín de C. y Castellón, I Marqués de C. de Montehermoso por merced del Rey Don Carlos III, de 3 de octubre de 1765. Su nacimiento tuvo lugar en La Habana el 15 de mayo de 1724 y casó con Doña Bárbara de Santa Cruz y Aranda, el 20 de julio de 1746, dejando descendencia. ...
