Nobility crown CañaveralLinaje muy antiguo del reino del León, cuyo solar es hoy desconocido. En la ciudad de León entroncaron con la noble familia de Tovar. Pasaron a Andalucía, tomando parte activa en las luchas de la Reconquista. En la ciudad de Córdoba entroncaron también por casamiento con la ilustre familia de los Fernández de Córdova, y en la hoy provincia de Huelva, en el partido judicial de Aracena, fundaron una villa, a la que dieron el nombre de su apellido y el de la región de su origen, llamándola C. de León. Pedro González de C., primero del nombre, caballero hijodalgo de sangre notorio, Señor del solar de C., en León, tuvo un hijo, que se llamó Sancho González de C., que fué Capitán y tomó parte con el Almirante de Castilla Fernán Sánchez de Tovar en la salida que se hizo para derrotar a la escuadra portuguésa. Contrajo matrimonio Sancho González de C., en la ciudad de León, con doña Inés de Canseco, de noble linaje en el citado reino, y tuvieron una sola hija, cuyo nombre fué: Inés González de C., que casó con Rodrigo de Tovar (hijo de Juan de Tovar, hermano del Almirante de Castilla Fernán Sánchez de Tovar, y de doña María de Velasco), entroncando por este enlace los dos nobles linajes. Fueron hijos del citado matrimonio: Juan de Tovar, que casó en León, donde dejó larga sucesión: y Sancho González de C., segundo del nombre, que sigue en esta casa. Este Sancho González de C., heredó de sus padres la casa del apellido C. y fué el primero del linaje que pasó a Andalucía. ...
