Ancient and noble family from Liguria, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. The main branch of the family moved to the Kingdom of Naples, before the sixteenth century, where it received great honors, especially for helping in the defense of the Kingdom by the Turkish invader. 1527; Tommaso, landowner, flourishing in Naples, in 1562; Luca, who distinguished himself in the defense of Malta against the Turks, in 1565; Giuseppe, priest and apostolic commissioner, flourishing in 1577; Agostino, doctor in "utroque jure", flourishing in Naples, in 1601; Gio. Batta, physician, living in Messina, in 1625; Luigi Maria, chief physician at the Neapolitan Court, living in 1638; Federico, who served the King of Spain during the revolt of Masaniello in 1647; Gio. Batta, Doctor in "utroque jure", living in Naples, in 1666; F. Giacomo, of the order of the Preachers, flourishing in 1702; Giuseppe, who bravely took part in the campaign of 1860/61, for the defense of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, from the invasion of Piedmont. Family names so old, without any doubt honor not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
