L'Imperator Federico nella Dieta di Costanza creò Calderino conte palatino, e gli confermò la donazione della rocca di Caldogno; più tardi gli concedette lo stemma gentilizio, in premio di aver salvata l'insegna imperiale nella famosa battaglia di Milano. Nel 1330 Marco e Alberto furono creati dall'Imperator Ludovico, con tutta la loro discendenza, conti palatini e cavalieri aurati, con la conferma del castello di Caldogno con mero e misto impero.
