En la ciudad de Sevilla radicó una familia de este apellido, a la que perteneció: Juan José C., natural de Sevilla, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Juana Domínguez, de la misma naturaleza (hija de Juan Sebastián Rodríguez y de su mujer doña Sebastiana Rodríguez Domínguez, pertenecientes ambos a nobles familias sevillanas). De dicha unión nació: Juan José C., segundo del nombre y natural de Sevilla. Pasó a Antioquía, departamento de la hoy República de Colombia, donde fué cabeza de la familia de su apellido. Se conocen detalles de su vida por unos apuntamientos que dejó escritos de su puño y letra, y que dicen así: "Salí de España el año de 1751, el día 16 de Mayo, de edad de veinticinco años, pues nací el año de 1726, el día 8 de Febrero. Llegué a Cartagena (de Indias) el 20 de Junio, y allí permanecí hasta el 16 de Mayo de 1752, que me regresé para España. El 6 de Diciembre de 1753 me volví para Cartagena, donde desembarqué el 6 de Febrero de 1754. Allí residí algún tiempo y subí a Honda, de donde salí el 31 de Enero de 1765 para la villa de la Candelaria, de Medellín, adonde llegué el 18 de Febrero. El día 6 de Septiembre de 1767 contraje matrimonio con doña Isabel Moreno, hija de D. Francisco José Moreno y de doña Nicolasa de la Sierra." Juan José C. falleció el 24 de Junio de 1788 y su viuda volvió a casar con Pantaleón Arango en 1793. Del matrimonio de Juan José C. y de la citada doña Isabel Moreno nacieron los siguientes hijos: Juan José C., Diego C. y Pedro C. ...
