Nobility crown CalleriAntica ed assai nobile famiglia, originaria di Carrù ma con residenza principale in Torino, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di autorevoli genealogisti, andrebbe ricercata nel praenomen latino "Callarus". Tal illustre casata è stata illustrata da Giovanni Tommaso, prima conte di Sala (14 febbraio 1783), dal costui figlio Giovanni Battista, che fece le campagne contro i francesi e combatté a Cosseria meritandosi la medaglia d'oro e la croce di Savoia, dai fratelli Giuseppe Antonio e Francesco, che combatterono da valorosi nelle guerre napoleoniche e raggiunsero nell'esercito sardo il grado di maggior generale e dal conte Giorgio (nato Torino, 18 febbraio 1834) che comandò i distretti di Belluno e di Pinerolo dopo essersi meritata la medaglia d'argento al valore nelle campagne 1859-60 e 1866.
