Nobility crown CaltranoTre famiglie dello stesso nome fiorirono in Vicenza. Della prima si à memoria nella cronaca di Ecellino fatta nel 1203 per riconoscere i nobili della Marca; la seconda ebbe la cittadinanza nel 1409; e la terza nel 1470. Arma della famiglia: D'azzurro, ad un ricinto di mura merlate con sei torri 3 e 3, il tutto d'agento, accompagnate in capo da una stella di sei raggi d'oro. Molte le famiglie che appartennero alla nobiltà veneta, molte di queste erano di Verona anche se non tutte di esse erano scritte al già Nobile Consiglio di Verona così come ci riporta il Cartolari nelle sue "Cenni sopra varie famiglie illustri di Verona e Famiglie già ascritte al Nobile Consiglio di Verona", stampati in Verona nel 1885 in 8°, dal Vicentini e Franchini. Un'antichissima versione sulla origine di questa famiglia dice: Vennero de altre terre, grandissimi homeni solito de facende, et erano zojelieri, et altre sorte de mercantie, et hano fatto de belli stabeli, sopra la fondamenta della medesima città. E difatti in questa città vi sono memorie di una famiglia. Nuclei di questa gente si stabilirono a Chioggia, a Pellestrina ed in altri luoghi del litorale della laguna, dove, per distinguersi uno dall'altro, si denominarono: Chiodo, Bazzara, Drago, Grillo, Campanaro, Piva, Cajo, Dalla Cariola, Salata, Penini, Busi, Gallo, Labbia, Daotto, Bell'umore, Brazzara, Marchian, Marubio ecc. Non è improbabile che qualcuno di questi abbia abbandonato il cognome originario per assumere definitivamente quello con cui erano sopranominati. ...
