Nobility crown Castilla Y MolinaEl infante Don Alonso, hijo derl rey Don Alonso IX, y hermano del rey San Fernando, casó con Doña Mafalda Manrique de Lara, señora de Molina, por lo cual se halla con frecuencia designado en la historia con alguna de estas denominaciones: Infante de Molina, infante don Alonso, señor de Molina, o bien solamente Don Alonso de Molina. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en el concilio de León de 1020 en el que se reconocía la supremacía de la jurisdicción real sobre los nobles, también esta familia estuvo relacionada con el concilio de Coyanza de 1050 en que se confirmaron las resoluciones del anterior. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Castilla Y Molina. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia C., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales.
