Nobility crown ChambrilhacCes armes se voient ainsi sur un sceau appliqué à deux quittances de Jean de Chambrillac, chevalier, seigneur de Sauzet, de Montagrier, etc., de 1403 et 1408. Cette maison, de la plus ancienne chevalerie, disent les généalogistes, est originaire du borg d'Agonac, en Périgord, où elle possédait un fief et château de ce nom. En récompense des bons services dudit Jean de Chambrilhac, le roi Charles VI lui donna la forteresse et châtellenie de Montagrier en 1404 et l'établit capitaine général des galères et autres vaisseaux ordonnés pour faire la guerre aux Génois en 1410. Les biens de la maison de Chamberlhac passèrent dans celle de Bourdeille, par le mariage de Jeanne avec Arnaud ou Armand, seigneur, baron de Bourdeille. Philippe, évêque de Sion en 1338 et archevèque de Nicosie (1345 et 1346), fils de Boson, semblerait appartenir à la maison dont il est ici question; le lion qui figure sur le sceau publié dans la "Sigillographie de M. de Ph. de Bosredon, est, en effet, la pièce qui meuble le 1er et le 4ème quartier des armes ci-dessus décrites. A la 7ème croisade il se voit le nom d'Astord de Chamberlhac ou Chambarlhac. ...
