Esta familia es origanaria del antiguo principado de Cataluña. El primero de sus caballeros de que se tienen noticias due Ramón de C. quen, según refiere en su Historia el Padre Arnaldo, monje del Monasterio de Troveras, era descendiente de los Condes de Barcelona. Don Jaime I "el Conquistador", le distinguió mucho y le nombró capitán para el sitio de la villa de Bocairente por haber abierto paso con su bravura al puerto de Agullente. Era natural de Lérida y pasó a Mallorca en 1229, con el ejército del rey conquistador. En el reparto hecho después de la conquista le tocó la alquería Potcherritchij, de seis yugadas, en la porción real de Montueri. Sus descendientes fundaron después casa solariega en Pollensa. De esta rama mallorquina eran los esposos Don Bartolomé C. y Doña Catalina Fiol. Dos de sus hijos, Don Pablo y Don Sebastían, nacidos en 1759 y 1767, respectivamente, se trasladaron a Tenerife, donde el primero fue castellano de la fortaleza de San Joaquín y contrajo matrimonio en Santa Cruz, el 12 de abril de 1787, con Doña Sebastiana de León y González-Conde, con quien solamente tuvo un hijo al que se le impuso el nombre de Antonio. Don Antonio C. y León Capitán de Milicias y Cónsul del Real Consulado Marítimo y Terrestre de las Islas Canarias, nació el 27 de abril de 1789 y casó el 16 de marzo de 1811, en Santa Cruz, con Doña María de la Concepción de los Ríos y Lemus, de cuyo matrimonio tuvo cinco hijos. ...
