Gerenton, écuyer de Privas, en Vivarais, vivait vers l1an 1270 et possédait un fief dans le mandement de Cheylus, dont il dota sa fille en la mariant, l'an 1308 avec Pierre de Cheylus, damoiseau. Pierre, vice-bailli du Vivarais, épousa, vers l'an 1410, Armandite d'Auvergne, qui se remaria avant l'an 1435, avec Thomas Alberti; elle était fille de Pierre d'Auvergne et d'Andoave de Merles, de la ville de Viviers. Il en eut: 1° Jean,marié avec Louise Alberti, fille de Thomas d'Alberti et de Raimonde Félix, sa première femme. Elle était veuve de Jean et sans enfant lorsqu'elle fit son testament le 15 octobre 1454. 2° Isabelle, mariée, le 5 septembre 1435, à Guillaume de Piolenc, damoiseau, coseigneur de Saint-Julien, de Saint-Paulet et de Fresques, fils de Dieudonné de Piolenc, seigneur du même lieu et de Garsinde de Montaigu. Elle fit son testament le 7 mai 1466. 3° Claudine, alliée, le 21 avril 1439, à Gui Godelli. Cette famille a été maintenue dans sa noblesse le 27 mars 1723. ...
