Nobility crown ColomEste antiguo linaje aparece ya radicado en Cataluña, Valencia, Baleares y Aragón, en principios del siglo XIII. Debió proceder de la Provenza, pues dice mosén Jaime Febrer en sus Trovas que Guillermo C., caballero provenzal, sirvió al rey Jaime I de Aragón en la conquista de Valencia, y que en premio a sus servicios le dio el citado monarca el lugar de Carpesa (perteneciente hoy al ayuntamiento de Valencia) y le ofreció hacerle su mayordomo. Añade el mismo tratadista que dicho Guillermo C. era hombre tan audaz y esforzado, que "hallando dormidos en Alamansa a dos centinelas de los moros se llegó a ellos, y cargándoselos a hombros, como un pastor dos reses, los condujo al campamento cristiano y se los presentó al rey". De Cataluña y Valencia pasó el linaje a Mallorca en el mismo siglo XIII, pues consta en documentos fehacientes que otro Guillermo C., mallorquín, fue elegido diputado por el lugar de Bellver (hoy San Lorenzo Descardasar) para prestar juramento de fidelidad al rey don Alonso III de Aragón. En 1471, Antonio C. fue jurado de la ciudad y reino de Mallorca por el estamento de ciudadanos. El capitán Antonio C. sirvió al rey don Fernando "el Católico" en las guerras de Nápoles y de Granada, y Guillermo C. fue jurado en 1522. Juan C. fue canónigo de Palma y visitador del obispado de Sigüenza y excelente latinista. Murió en 3 de febrero de 1806. ...
