Questa famiglia è antichissima e discende dalla famiglia di Padova. Si diramò nelle vicine città della Marca Trevigiana e specialmente a Vicenza, dove sedette in quel nobile Consiglio. Il titolo di conte proveniente dalla loro antica funzione che ne radicò l'uso ereditario, venne riconosciuto dalla Repubblica Veneta. Alcuni membri di questa famiglia vestirono l'abito del Sovrano Militare Ordine di Malta. Aggiunse il cognome Barbaran per conseguita eredità da quella famiglia. Bernardino di Pietro ottenne la conferma della nobiltà con Sovrana Risoluzione Austriaca 4 giugno 1820. Sono iscritti nell'Elenco ufficiale i seguenti: Giulio, n.
