Nobility crown CoppiFamiglia originaria di S Gimignano, derivata da un Coppo (1290), di Lotterio, detto "Boccapiatta". Un suo discendente, Francesco, di Coppo, quando già la famiglia si era stabilita in Firenze, fu squittinato, ossia nominato, al Priorato nel 1411. Trasmigrati per ragion d'impieghi a Massa di Carrara, Portoferraio e a Livorno e poi ritornati in Firenze con Giovanni Tommaso di Frediano, di Gaspare, Direttore della R. Azienda del Tabacco, questi, avendo ottenuta dalla benevolenza del Granduca di Toscana una commenda stefaniana, chiese l'ascrizione al Patriziato Fiorentino, sancita con rescritto 11 giugno 1841 per lui e per i discendenti dal fratello Luigi Leonardo che ebbe cinque figli. Francesco Michele, Tito Luigi, Pietro Igino, Giacomo Domenico e Augusto, che fu padre di Gio. Tommaso (nato 1839), Piero Alberto (nato 1842) e Giacomo Mino (nato 1845). Altro ramo.
