Araldica della famiglia: Dämon
Ancient and noble German family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has spread, during the centuries, in different European regions and worldwide. According to what has been handed down, this family once belonged to the ancient nobility of the "Uradel", a term coined only in modern times, in reference to noble families whose ancestral lineage can be traced back to before the Middle Ages. Contrasts with "Briefadel" (lit. all ages, always stood out, thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service, in the liberal professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Heinrich, canon in Worms, in 1277; Heinrich, Judge of Mainz, flourishing in 1298; Damian, councillor in Schnait, flourishing in 1321; Ealdberht, landowner in Baden-Württemberg, flourishing in 1456; Sigmar, doctor in "utroque jure", flourishing in Schnait, in 1515; Floribert, militiaman, flourishing in Baden-Württemberg, in 1526; Ludger, jurist, flourishing in Schnait, in 1551; Heinrich, jurist, flourishing in Worms, in 1594; Tamer, landowner in Baden-Württemberg, flourishing in 1627; Anton, councillor in Schnait, living in 1655; Thorben, councillor in Schnait, flourishing in the eighteenth century; Sigmar, general of cavalry, under the banners of Charles VI; Wolfgang, jurist in Tubingen, flourishing in 1789; Franz, jurist, flourishing in Tubingen, in 1793. Many family members, nowdays, are living near the city of Mainz. There is no historical evidence linking the family to the Val Demone, one of the valleys in which it was divided Sicily from Muslim domination to the Bourbon period. However, since the ancient times, we cannot even exclude it. Family names so old, without any doubt, honour not only the families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious persons.
