Nobility crown De GuemadeucTrès illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Olivier, croisé en 1248 (Chartes latines de 1191 à 1249 relatives aux croisés, provenant du cabinet Courtois), Rolland, épouse en 1300 Alix de Briquebec; Rolland, marié à Jeanne du Cambout, ratifie le traité de Guérande en 1381; Rolland, chevalier de l'Hermine en 1454 et chambellan du duc; un abbé de Saint-Jacut en 1520 mort en 1559; sept chevaliers de l'ordre de 1578 à 1617; plusieurs gouverneurs de Fougères, Ploërmel et Saint-Malo, dont l'un député de la noblesse aux Etats-Généraux de 1614; un lieutenant au régiment du Roi, tué à la bataille de Nerwinde en 1693; un évêque de Lavaur, puis de Saint-Malo en 1671, abbé de Saint-Jean des Prés et de la Noë, au diocèse d'Évreux, mort en 1702, surnommé par Madamme de Sévigné la linotte mitrée; deux abbesses de Montcassin depuis 1677; une prieure de Locmaria de Plumelec en 1720. La branche aînée a fini à Thomas, grand écuyer héréditaire de Bretagne, décapité en place de Grève en 1617 pour avoir tué traîtreusement le baron de Nevet aux Etats de Rennes en 1616. Il ne laissait qu'une fille, Marie-Françoise, dame de Guémadeuc, mariée en 1626 à Françoise Vignerot, marquis de Pontcourlay, dont les enfants furent substitués aux nom et armes du Plessis-Richelieu; la branche de Crenolle fondue dès 1464 dans du Quengo. La châtellenie de Guémadeuc passa ensuite par acquêt en 1679 aux Bertholot de Baye, et par alliance en 1732 aux Baudouin de Sorbéville. ...
