Procede de Aubenas, departamento de Ardeche, y en la Historia de Francia, bien aparecen señalados no pocos de sus hijos. En las Cruzadas ya figuraron. Carlos Bonnet de Combes y de David, primero que se firmó De-Combes, segundo de su casa y primogénito después, por morir sin posteridad el mayor de sus hermanos (el Coronel Francisco de David de Combes, Brigadier de la Guadia de Corps del Rey de Francia), cruzó la frontera en unión de M. de Calonge al surgir en su país las revueltas de 1789 y previas las pruebas necesarias, ingresó en el Real Cuerpo de Guardias de Corps de Su Majestad Católica.
