Esta familia tiene su antiguo solar en el valle de Carriedo, en las montañas de Burgos, desde donde se ha extendido por toda España. El fundador del primitivo solar, Bernardo Díaz del C., que se supone descendiente de los primitivos Codes de Asturias, es orígine y tronco de los Marqueses de Berlanga, Dunques de Frías, Condestables de Castilla, y de numerosas ramas establecidas en Asturias, Extremadura, Andalucía, Canarias y América. La rama de esta familia que se estableció en Tenerife a principios de Siglo XVIII, procedía de la villa de Escacena, provincia de Huelva. El primero de la línea que constituyó una opulenta Casa en Santa Cruz de Tenerife el año 1720, fue Don Blas del C. Riveros y Flores, bautizado en la iglesia de El Salvador de Escacena el día 3 de febrero de 1693 y casado el 4 de julio de 1726, con Doña Josefa María de Campos-Crousbeck y Salazar, hija de Don Guillermo de Campos-Crousbeck y Van dem Broke y de Doña María Alfonso Salazar Rodríguez de Flores y Cabrera. De dicho matrimonio nacieron cuatro hijos, Don Santiago Clemente de C., que sigue la línea; Don Francisco Féliz, Don Blas José que casó con Doña Petrona Machín y Milián, de Valladolid, y tuvo cuatro hijos; el primero, Don José Cesáreso del C., con sucesión, y Doña María de la Candelaria.
