Heraldik die Familie: Di Bella
Krone des Adels Di Bella Ancient and very noble feudal family, originally from Basilicata, in the Kingdom of Naples, that moved to Sicily and, more precisely, in Messina, Taormina and Acireale, and that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. According to what has been handed down, its founder was Riccardo, born in 1160, son of the judge Giovanni de Salvia. This Riccardo, Lord of Rivisco, in the locality Curia and of St. Sophia, in the locality Bella, along with his brothers Pandolfo, Alessandro and Pietro took part in the Third Crusade in the Holy Land and received by King William II, with Privilege of 13... Fortsetzung folgtMarch 1186, the title of Baron of Santa Sofia and later the title of Count. The fief of St. Sophia was bequeathed by Gerardo, of Bernardo, of Nicola, of Jacopo, to his son Giovanni, born in 1430, while the fief of Rivisco to his son Alemanno, Lord of Rivisco (extinct branch). Giovanni exchanged the fief of St. Sophia, of which held back the feudal lordship, with the fief of Cavachi, between the provinces of Messina and Catania, on which he obtained by Alfonso I of Aragon, King of Sicily and Naples, with privilege April 20, 1457, the title of Baron. The family, therefore, lived with nobility in Messina, Taormina, Acireale and Palermo in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. In 1819, Don Rosario, dominus of St. Sophia, of Cavachi, and Lord of Rivisco, moved from Acireale to Partanna to get married with the noble lady Sciarabba Francesca, daughter of Baron Pasquale, from which Don Paolo, who married the noblewoman Paola Spallino in Castelvetrano. From these, descend the current representatives of the family. The Di Bella are mentioned in the works of E. Mineo, "Nobiltà di Stato" (2002), "Famiglie e identità aristocratiche nel tardo medioevo in Sicilia". By decision SGI n. 137/10 of 04/07/2011, have been confirmed the genealogy of the House for the publication in the Golden Book of the Mediterranean Nobility. Family names so old, without any doubt honor not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
