Antiguo linaje aragonés de caballeros mesnaderos, cuyo primitivo solar radicó en el lugar de Embún (cuyo nombre tomó), del partido judicial de Jaca (Huesca). Del primero de esta familia de quien se tiene noticia fué Ximén López de E., que en el año de 1284 sirvió al Rey Don Pedro III de Aragón en la guerra de Sicilia. Fué nombrado, entre otros caballeros, para tomar parte en el desafío de Burdeos, y se halló, a las órdenes del Rey Don Jaime II de Aragón en 1309, en la guerra de Almería. Garci Ximénez de E., asistió a la guerra contra los moros de Granada, y Ximeno López de E. fué Alcalde de Guesa en tiempos del Rey Don Pedro IV, cuando la Unión de Aragón. Pedro Ximénez de E., se halló en el año de 1349 en la concordia que hicieron los Reyes Don Pedro IV de Aragón y Don Alonso XI de Castilla. Este caballero era vasallo del Conde D. Lope de Luna. Otro Ximén Pérez de E., sirvió al citado Monarca Don Pedro IV de Aragón y fué Capitán de la Junta de Egea, en la guerra contra el Rey de Castilla. Mosén Miguel Ximénez de E. formó parte de la dotación de la Armada que en el año 1392 fué en socorro de la isla de Sicilia, y Pedro de E. sirvió en 1413 al Rey Don Fernando I de Aragón. Juan Ximénez de E. siguió el partido del Conde de Urgell y Miguel de E. fué hecho prisionero en la batalla de la isla de Ponza, donde luchó al lado de los Reyes Don Alonso V de Aragón y Don Juan de Navarra. Ximeno de E. tenía a su cargo en 1435 la defensa de Ciña, por el Rey de Aragón. ...
