Si hanno notizie della famiglia in Reggio fino dal 1577, nel qual anno viveva un Bartolomeo Erasmo. Nel 1758 si ha notizie di un illustrissimo Lodovico Erasmi, figlio del nobile reggiano Giulio Paolo, e di un capitano Giovanni Erasmi, morto prima del 1777. Nel 1838 addì 27 maggio morì il canonico nobile Gioseffo Erasmi, Priore del Capitolo, ed Arcidiacono della Cattedrale di Reggio Emilia. Un Pietro Erasmi fu distinto incisore e viveva a Parma nel 1850. Stanislao di Tommaso-Lodovico era Guardia Nobile del duca di Modena. È famiglia di nobiltà civica. Il cavaliere Tommaso Erasmi di Stanislao, di Tommaso-Lodovico, dopo essere stato marinaio in sua gioventù, fu poi segretario capo per molti anni del Comune di Scandiano; poscia sub-economo dei benefizi vacanti in Reggio Emilia dove morì pochi anni fa, senza figli.
