Questa famiglia fu ascritta alla nobiltà Viterbese nel secolo XVIII ed un ramo di essa si trapiantò a Roma. Lo stemma di questa famiglia è rappresentato nel libro del Coretini stampato in Roma nel 1774, "Notizie della città di Viterbo". La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Uff. Nob. Ital. del 1922 col titolo di nobile di Viterbo. Altro ramo. Sembra un ramo della famiglia omonima che fiorì fra le nobili di Viterbo e fu detto poi del Cerrosi-Torellini. Questi però portavano altro stemma, inquantochè l'albero aveva i rami decussati ed era attraversato da una fascia d'argento caricata di tre rose di rosso.
