Nobility crown EspinchalExcellente et fort distinguée noblesse chevaleresque, qui tire son nom d'une terre située entre Condat et Besse (Auvergne), terre qu'elle possédait dès 1266. Filiation depuis Guillaume, seigneur dudit lieu en 1341 et des Ternes, dont la fille épousa vers 1364, Assailli de Tourzel, d'où: Morinot, tige de la seconde maison des barons d'Allègre. Pierre fut inscrit à l'armorial manuscrit de 1450. Antoine son fils, par lettres patentes du 10 mars 1487, devint conseiller et chambellan du roi Charles VIII et fut l'ascendant de Jacques, chevalier de l'Ordre du roi, marié le 14 février 1610 à Gasparde d'Hérail de la Roue de Pierrefort, veuve de Gilles de Robert-Lignerac et dame de Dunières, baronnie qu'elle apporta en contrat à son mari. François-Gabriel, baron de Dunières, l'un de leurs fils, s'allia le 29 mars 1638 à Marie-Isabeau de Polignac; l'autre par de violences qui lui valurent une condamnation à mort en 1662, mais pour laquelle il obtint des lettres de rémission le 10 août 1678. Nombreuses illustrations: un chevalier croisé (1266-1689); un grand vicaire de l'évêque du Puy (1637); un commandant de l'escadron de la noblesse d'Auvergne au XVIème siècle; un lieutenant-général des armées navales, gouverneur en 1672 de la ville de Murat; un commandant aux chevau-légers du prince de Joinville, d'Espinchal, mestre de camp en 1701, contribua puissamment au gain de la bataille de Denain (1712).
