Nobility crown FalcucciAntica casata derivata dalla famiglia Beni, di cui un Andrea di Falcutii, essendo di parte guelfa e nutrendo rancore contro i suoi parenti che erano di parte ghibellina, volle cambiare il cognome e lo stemma e si fece chiamare Falcucci, che trasmise a'suoi discendenti. Baldo, figlio del precedente, nel 1402 fu uno dei consoli del comune di Gubbio, e dopo lui altri della sua famiglia furono investiti nello stesso secolo del consolato. Questa casa à dato alla patria parecchi gonfalonieri di giustizia, primo de'quali fu il capitano Federico nel 1555, quindi Giulio-Cesare nel 1600 ed il conte Giulio nel 1615 ed altri fino al 1723. Ubaldo Falcucci ambasciatore a Venezia per Francesco-Maria I Della Rovere; Francesco-Maria Vescovo di Calvi; il conte Vincenzo senatore di Milano. Di questa famiglia non si ebbero più notizie dalla fine del XVIII secolo per la morte del conte Carlo, che lasciò un'unica figlia, Colomba, maritata al conte Carlo Manentoli. Altro ramo. Originaria del Mugello e trapiantata in Firenze si divise in diversi rami, alcuni dei quali si dissero Falcucci da Paliano, stante il dominio di un villaggio che avevano presso il borgo S. Lorenzo, ed alcuni altri si nomarono Falcucci dalla Collina perchè signori della villa di Fortuni. Sette priori uscirono da questa casa dal 1343 al 1381. Rodolfo, generale dell'Ordine Camaldolese, morto nel 1106, ottenne l'onor degli altari. Nicolò di Francesco di Gialdo fu medico e filosofo insigne del sec. XIV. Altro ramo.
