Nobility crown FavadExcellente bourgeoisie qui tire son nom du village du Favet près Félines. Elle compte parmi ses membres les seigneurs de Sassac-Latour (paroisse de Félines), de Chesles près la Chaise-Dieu, du Breuil, de Montagier, etc. On trouve aussi sous ce nom: Agès, fille de Guillaume dt d'Agnès de Clavières, épousa Etienne Grellet lequel vivait en 1412. Filiation suivie depuis Antoine, notaire à Chomelix en 1520. Un lieutenant et un procureur d'office de Chomelix (1587-1628); plusieurs notaires et consuls de Craponne; des hommes d'armes dans la Chevalerie du baron d'Allégre (1467-1513). Une branche de cette famille anoblie au XVIIème siècle, alliée aux de Saint-Priest et aux de la Roque, s'est éteinte dans les de Saignard de Sasselanges. Un autre rameau allié aux Benoît, notaires royaux à St-Just, s'est éteint au miliau du XIXème siècle, par une fille, dans les Faugières representés au château de la Reynerie près Le Vernet-le-Varenne (Puy-de-Dôme). Belles alliances. La distinction familiale représentée ici sous forme de blason, survit à travers les siècles grâce à des précieux témoignages qui nous ont permis de rapporter les exploits et les gestes de cette noble famille.
