Guillaume, damoiseau (1386). Peu après, les Ferrand fixés au Puy passèrent par désuétude dans l'ordre de la bourgeoisie, comme il arriva à nombre de familles du Velay au XVIème siècle. Barthélemy Ferrand fait une reconnaissance d'une terre à l'abbé de St-Pierre-La-Tour le 8 avril 1469. Jean Ferramd chanoine du chapitre deSt-Vosy (1489). Raymond Ferrand licencié ès lois, possessionné à Chausson près le Puyen en 1508. Armand, notaire (1596). Cristophe Ferrand, docteur ès lois, avocat en parlement, juge pour l'évêque en la Cour commune du Puy (1589). Marie Alexis de la Valette en est dite veuve en 1608. Pierre Ferrand Bourgeois, devint consul du Puy (1650). On trouve en 1664: nobles Christophe écuyer et François Ferrand, prêtre et prieur de St-Germain, frères, co-héritiers de feu noble Pierre, écuyer. La branche des seigneurs d'Amavis près Yssingeaux au XVIIème siècle a donné: deux avocats du roi en la sénéchaussée du Puy (1622-1650) dont l'un, Christophe, fut assassiné par Claude de Luzy de Pélissac en novembre 1639. ...
