De Galicia pasó a León y Asturias. En la Real Chancillería de Valladolid se conserva la información de hidalguía que hizo el año de 1714 Juan Antonio F., vecino de Coto de Tor (Oviedo), y la que rindió en 1773 Gregorio F., vecino de Villafranca del Bierzo (León). Una rama portuguésa de F. entroncó con la de Chaves, del mismo reino. Entre los F. lusitanos se destacaron Ruy F., fundador de una de las más importantes ramas de F. de aquella nación, y el misionero Luis F. Este religioso portugués, que había nacido en Almodóvar en 1573 y que ingresó en la Compañía de Jesús en 1592, fué enviado a la misión del Brasil. Después de haber sido allí Rector de Pernambuco y Superior de la residencia de Marañón, volvió a Portugal con el propósito de reunir nuevos religiosos para aquellas misiones; pero en su viaje de regreso a América naufragó la embarcación que les conducía en la desembocadura del río Amazonas y pereció con trece de sus compañeros el 30 de Abril de 1643.
