Troili, marchesato riconosciuto nel 1879 alla famiglia, è un castello nominato nel 1688 fra quelli inclusi da Urbano II nella giurisdizione spirituale della diocesi di Anagni. Alessandro IV lo diede nel 11257 a suo nipote Rinaldo di Jenne, ma i figli di costui lo vendettero nel 1299 al cardinale Francesco ed a Pietro Gaetani, che ne fu investito da Bonifacio VIII il 10 febbraio 1303. Confiscato da Alessandro VI ai Gaetani, fu dato all'Abbazia di Subiaco, ma nel 1503, morto il Papa, lo riebbero. Comprato da Orazio Gaetani agli altri eredi, questi la lasciò, con fidecommisso istituto con testamento il 25 aprile 1670, al marchese Tiberio Astalli. Estinta questa linea degli Astalli, i creditori lo misero in vendita con altri beni e venne acquistato nel 1767 dal conte Compagnoni Marefoschi. Nel sec.
