El origen de la familia que nos ocupa es navarro y tomaron sus caballeros el apellido de F., por ser señores de la villa y castillo del mismo nombre, que hoy pertenecen al partido judicial de Tafalla. Mosén Jaime Febrer cita a Pedro de F., caballero navarro, cuya familia disfrutaba de jurisdicción sobre los que vendían, si defraudaban en los géneros.
