Nobility crown GaeteLinaje de Extremadura. Una de sus ramas radicó en la villa de Zalamea de la Serena, del partido judicial de Castuera (Badajoz), de la que dimanó una línea que se estableció en Chile. Otra rama tuvo asiento en la ciudad de Trujillo (Cáceres). A esta rama pertenció Francisco Ortiz de G., natural de Zalamea de la Serena, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Leonor González, y fueron padres de Diego Ortiz de G. y González, que sigue. Cristóbal Ortiz de G. y González, natural de Zalamea de la Serena, que asistió a la conquista de Méjico, y pasó después a Chile con su hermana María, en 1555. Se avecindó primero en Santiago de Chile, y más tarde en Osorno, Tuvo por esposa a doña Catalina Carabantes, en la que procreó a Hernando Ortiz de G. y Carabantes, nacido en Osorno, que fué Presbítero y Visitador de las provincias de Chile en 1576. Se avecindó en Valdivia en 1580, pasando a Villanueva de la Serena, en España, en 1616. Cristóbal Ortiz de G. y Carabantes, nacido en 1554, y vecino de Osorno (Chile), en 1607. Leonor Ortiz de G. y Carabantes, conocida también por Leonor de Carabantes, mujer del Licenciado Hernando Bravo de Villalba, tronco de la familia de los Bravos de Villalba, Corregidor de Santiago de Chile en 1563, Fiscal de la Real Audiencia de Concepción en 1566 y Corregidor de Valdivia, y Catalina Ortiz de G. y Carabantes, esposa de Rodrigo de Rojas, ambos progenitores de la familia de Rojas, de Osorno, arraigada más tarde en La Serena (Chile). ...
