Selon un certificat donné par le lieutenant-général de Périgueux, le 25 septembre 1557, est-il dit par la Chenays-Desbois, Gilles, écuyer, assista à la tenue des Etats. Marié en secondes noces, le 5 février 1547, avec Anne de Calvimont, il eut Jacques, écuyer, lequel épousa, le 18 mai 1583, Armande de Siorac, dont provint Jean, écuyer, seigneur de la Durantie, qui servit au ban et arrière-ban du Périgord, ainsi qu'il est constaté par l'extrait du procès-verbal fait pour la convocation du 18 juin 1639. A cette même assemblée figure également François, écuyer, seigneur de Caillavel; et à celle de 1674 Marc, écuyer, seigneur de la Durantie, fils de ce dernier, reçoit comme son père une quittance du ban et arrière-ban. A ces constatations de la noblesse de la famille, dont Lachenays-Desbois donne la filiation jusqu'en 1754, j'ajouterai que sur un vidime fait à Bordeaux, le 16 mars 1667, par Claude Pellot, intendant de guienne, Bernard, François et autre François furent inscrits dans le Catalogue des nobles de la sénéchaussée de Périgueux. Parmi les votants pour les députés de l'Ordre de la noblesse aux États-Généraux de 1789, on voit ainsi inscrit: " Messire de Gualabert, chevalier, seigneur de Septfonds, habitant de Sainte-Alvère". ...
