Corona nobiliare Giacomo Ancient and noble Sicilian family, with main residence in Messina, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. The clear nobility of the House is confirmed by the presence of its blazon in the valuable work "Il Dizionario storico-blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane, estinte e fiorenti" of the Italian writer and heraldist Giovan Battista di Crollalanza (19 May 1819 – 8 March 1892), published in Pisa in three volumes between 1886 and 1890. Moreover, this family, in all ages, always stood out, thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service,... Continuain the liberal professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Abizo, juror in Messina, in 1319; Luigi, juror in Messina, in 1492; Giacomo, landowner in Sicily, flourishing in 1501; Federico, royal soldier, living in Messina in 1534; Pietro Maria, doctor in "utroque jure", living in Messina, in 1549; Antonio, Cuirassier of King Philip II of Spain; Paolo, master of the field in Messina, living in 1699; P. Francesco, of the order of the Preachers, flourishing in 1702; Francesco who obtained, with privilege 30 November 1769, the title of Baron of Giovan Paolo. Other family. The genealogy, rigorously documented, of this illustrious and ancient family, refers to a Giacomo, called the Master of Hungary, a Hungarian cistercian (XII-XIII century). Against the nobles and the clergy he recruited groups of peasants in the Brabant, in Picardy and Hainaut, to free the king taken prisoner in the crusade of 1250 and to conquer Jerusalem. Giacomo was killed by French nobles and his gangs were dispersed. Family names so old, without any doubt, honour not only the families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
