Antica e nobile famiglia di Mondavio, già antico Vicariato in quel di Fano e che la tradizione vuole originaria della Dalmazia, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La casata ha dato illustri personaggi alla patria. Gaspare, dottore in l'una e l'altra legge, protonotario apostolico, esaminatore della S. Casa di Loreto, giudice del collegio germanico, cavaliere del Sovrano Militare Ordine di Malta, morì nel 1702, di anni 75.
