Nobility crown GiulaniFamille du Vivarais, d'origine noble et maintenue dans cette province, sur preuves de quatre généations remontant à Jean Julien, père d'autre Jean, marié le 21 mai 1559 à Isabeau de Chambaud. Une branche établie au Monastier, au XVIIIème siècle, avait dérogé à la noblesse par l'exercice des charges de judicature. Théofrède Julien, notaire royal, demeurant en cette ville, est qualifié seigneur de la Varenne. Il avait épousé demoiselle Madeleine Roche, alias de la Roche, d'où plusieurs enfants de 1770 à 1780. Peu après, vivait dans la même localité, Jacques François Julien, seigneur de Beauregard, avocat en parlement, allié en 1791 à Marguerite Calemard. La branche du Vivarais a produit: un garde du corps du roi en 1777 et l'abbé Julien de la Varenne, grand-vicaire du diocèse de Valence au XIX siècle. A ce nom, on attribue un signe distinctif de noblesse représenté par le blason que l'on a reproduit ci-contre et qui confirme aussi à travers ses emblêmes, au point de vue historique et héraldique la certitude d'une valeur remarquable. Armes de la famille: D'azur, à la tour d'argent, senestrée d'un lion d'or, armé et lampassé de même; au chef cousu de gueules, chargé de trois étoiles d'or. ...
