Tuvo su primitivo solar en el lugar de Gorráiz (cuyo nombre tomó), del Ayuntamiento de Egüés y partido judicial de Aoiz (Navarra). En el año de 1642, Francisco de Aibar y Gorráiz, vecino de la ciudad de Corella, compareció ante la Real Audiencia de Pamplona y dijo que, por su padre y abuelos, era hijodalgo, originario de Malpica de Arba y de Uncastillo, ambas villas del partido judicial de Soso, en la provincia de Zaragoza, y por su abuela materna de la casa de Autol y familia de López de Murillos, y del palacio de Gorráiz en el lugar de este nombre, y suplicó se le declarase hijodalgo. En otro proceso, seguido en 1644, se le declaró así. En Tafalla, moró una familia, a la que, en un expediente de pruebas de Calatrava, se la apellida G., aunque lo más probable es que sea Gorráiz, pues entroncó con los Beaumont, como en efecto lo hicieron los Gorráiz. De ella fué Lanzarote de G., Señor de Gorráez y natural de Tafalla, que casó con doña María de Liñán, de la misma naturaleza, y fueron padres de Diego de Gorráiz y Liñán, llamado también Diego de Gorráiz y Beaumont, Señor de Gorráez y natural de Tafalla, que en su mujer, doña Florenciana de Buitrago, natural de Corella (hija de Sebastián de Buitrago, natural de Corella, y de doña Juana Benedit, natural de Tudela), tuvo a Francisco de G. Beaumont y Buitrago, natural de Corella y de la Orden de Calatrava, en la que ingresó el año de 1649. Los G. entroncaron con los Montesa y los Larreta. ...
